About Catherine Robertson
Born and raised in West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Catherine's art is influenced greatly by the twenty-eight years spent on her parent's boats, exploring the west coast, it's rugged mountains and forests and the beautiful wildlife gifted to us by our Creator. These subjects are the general theme of her paintings and drawings. Acrylic and colored pencil are her main media and her work is found in many corporate and private collections in North America. Catherine is an Associate Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, having just recently received her Signature Status, and was recently invited to become a member of the Mondial Art Academia in Southern France, is an Honorary Member of the Drawing Society of Canada, a member of Semiahmoo Arts, the South Surrey White Rock Art Society, and The Colored Pencil Society of America and has won many awards for her paintings of deep, vibrant color and light. Her personal website is found at www.robertsongallery.com. Catherine has encouraged many emerging artists into the delights and the richness of the life as painter in her thirty years as an art instructor. Her 'Artist's Statement' is quite simple: "I paint what I love, I love what is beautiful.
